Toddington - Monmouth Way

Introduction
A 3.5 mile (6 km) walk from Toddington to Eversholt, linking the Icknield Way long distance path with the Greensand Ridge Walk. The Monmouth Way is named after the Duke of Monmouth (1649-85), Pretender to the English throne, whose mistress Henrietta Wentworth was born in Toddington and lived at the Manor.

The symbol for the Monmouth Way represents a Duke's Coronet. Watch out for the symbol on waymark posts and stiles.

The route is mainly over grazing fields, some hard tracks, woodland and two large arable fields. The grazing fields often contain livestock and dogs should be kept under close control. The route is stile free. In good weather with firm ground allow over an hour and a half for the walk.

The A5120 passes through Toddington which is just under a mile south west of junction 12 of the M1. There is restricted and unrestricted on-street parking around the centre of Toddington. Other parking is available at the Village Hall, off Leighton Road, subject to functions. Unrestricted on street parking is available in Eversholt.
